Get ready for mole season with RootBarrier™ mole protection

19/03/26 Information

These two products offer an animal-friendly solution for molehills.

The start of spring also means that moles are becoming active again. Mole hills are often an eyesore and can cause significant damage to lawns, gardens, and other green spaces. By taking the right measures in a timely manner, this damage can be minimized in an animal-friendly way.

How does a molehill form?

Moles are naturally beneficial animals: they eat insects and other pests, among other things. What many people don’t know is that molehills form because moles push excess soil to the surface while digging their underground tunnels.

RootBarrier solutions for mole control

Within the RootBarrier range, we offer two animal-friendly solutions to prevent molehills: RootBarrier™ MoleGrid 110 and RootBarrier™ Mole Barrier 400. Both products form a physical barrier beneath the lawn, allowing moles to remain active underground but preventing them from creating molehills in your lawn.

The main difference lies in their strength and application. MoleGrid 110 is a lightweight and flexible solution, ideal for private gardens. The Mole Barrier 400 is heavier and stronger, with a smaller mesh size, making it more resistant to intensive use, such as on sports fields or heavily trafficked areas.
