PPWR Information & Downloads
The Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) is the new European packaging legislation (EU 2025/40). The aim of this regulation is to make packaging more recyclable, reduce packaging waste and promote the circular economy. Most of its provisions will come into force on 12 August 2026.
We continuously collect, analyse and publish relevant information about the PPWR. What information does KING make available?
KING Nonwoven Products is actively working to collect, verify and make available all relevant packaging information. Depending on the product, the following documents, amongst others, may be available:
- PPWR Declaration of Conformity
- Technical Data Sheet (TDS)
- Material information
- Information on recyclability
- Product specifications
This documentation is being made available in stages.
Why is the PPWR being introduced?
The European Union aims to reduce the amount of packaging waste and ensure that packaging can be collected, sorted and recycled more easily. At the same time, companies need to gain a better understanding of the sustainability of their packaging and the materials used. The PPWR therefore sets out new requirements regarding design, recyclability, documentation and the provision of information.
When does the PPWR come into force?
The Regulation entered into force on 12 February 2025. Most of the obligations will apply from 12 August 2026. For certain aspects, such as recyclability classes and recycled content targets, longer transition periods apply, extending to 2030, 2035 and 2040.
